Galerie Henide was founded by Joseph de Leon in 1932. From the outset, it was an art gallery which, in time, gave birth to today's ancient rugs gallery.

Its founder was then 24 and the enterprise was soaring when World War II slackened activity all over the world. Yet, with the dynamic, talented Joseph de Léon at its head, the gallery was soon to rank among the first Parisian rugs galleries.
